Two randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled phase 2 trials enrolled adults with obesity or overweight. In the first, adults with type 2 diabetes were given GLP-3 R, dulaglutide or placebo for 36 weeks. In the second, adults with clinical obesity but no diabetes were given GLP-3 R or placebo for 48 weeks. Fasting blood was drawn at baseline and during treatment, and the researchers measured lipids, apolipoproteins, lipoprotein particle subclasses and inflammatory markers, comparing change from baseline against placebo.
